Here's why this isn't human-translated:

1. お世話になります
You wrote "Thank you for your continued support."

Explanation: It means "I'll be in your care." If you've watched even a handful of anime episodes, you've heard this line. Character shows up at someone's place, they say お世話になります, subtitles read "thank you for having me" or "I'll be in your care." It's that basic. For your translation to make any sense, the line would have to be coming from the one doing the welcoming, not the visitor. Like if someone ran a business and a regular customer walked in, sure, "thank you for your continued patronage" works there. That's not what's happening in this scene. A machine doesn't know that. It just sees the phrase and picks the closest dictionary match.

2. も…もちろんですよっ
You wrote "Of course... Absolutely!"

Explanation: The blonde doesn't trust him. She's warning him directly: women only, no peeping, don't try anything. She's suspicious of him from the start. His response is a nervous, stumbling denial, not a confident agreement. "O-of course not!" That's the line. Yours sounds like he's cheerfully going along with something, which is the opposite of what's on the page. Reading one bubble at a time without tracking who said what and why is what a machine does.

3. だけどまさか… / 出会い系で…
You wrote "But I never expected..." / "I can't believe the woman I met through a dating app turned out to be my aunt nanako... "

Explanation: Two bubbles, one thought: "But of all people... for the woman I met on a dating app to be my aunt Nanako..." You broke it into "But I never expected..." and "I can't believe..." which repeats the same beat twice and loses the actual punchline of the sentence. Anyone reading the page as a page would've seen they connect.

4. あとで… / お話ししよ？
You wrote "Later... / Shall we talk?"

Explanation: The nephew is making advances on his aunt right there at home, with other people around. She's not having a conversation, she's shutting it down quietly. あとでお話ししよ？ across two bubbles means "Let's talk later, okay?" as in: not here, not now, stop. That's the whole point of the whisper. Your version turns it into two floating fragments that mean nothing on their own. The "not now" is gone, the urgency is gone, the subtext is gone.

You're not a G-Rank rookie struggling through kanji. You're a D-Rank fraud collecting credit for output you didn't produce. Go learn the language, then come back. Stop wasting the time of people who actually take this seriously.

With all due respect, I think you missed the point. It's not like AI = bad and human = good. AI is bad because at best loses lots of context to properly understand the story, and at worst it's a mixture of grammatical gibberish and untranslated onomatopoeias. That said not EVERY AI translation is bad, if it's properly human check proofed afterwards, and not every human translation is good.

You got a good will, but there are blatant mistakes, usually made by people who don't understand the basic structure/idioms, of the language. If the translator doing the job doesn't have enough knowledge of the language, the translation will be deficient.

Some of them were pointed above, but there are more out there.

Why don't you and your ilk start your replies of dismay with "I've funded $xxx worth of translations to date and ............" then go on your 'out of the candidate pool' rant.

"Anyone who might've cared enough to fund" = "I'm too f'n cheap to write a check and am waiting for someone else to pay [AND SHARE] so I may receive the pleasure of translations at no cost to me". Youre following around a food truck and cursing the free dry cheese sandwich they throw you instead of a basket of hot street tacos (or whatever).

Your rants are not going to stop amateurs - which at least make an honest effort - or the folks that unfortunately simply plug and chug AI. If you're a for-commission translator, you have additional motive to rail.

Idea for you..Set up a site/page that only accepts/lists works which meet som manner of QC standards, make it a pay site to offset the price of comissions, then you can call it something like FAKKU or Irodori ............... and see how quickly traffic atrophies.

Honestly, seeing the tone in this thread, it’s no surprise that more and more hobby translators who do this in their free time end up hiding their work behind paywalls.
If this is how free work gets treated, the decision makes perfect sense.

For anyone confused: the credits are a joke — I’m poking fun at myself, and “G‑Rank” is literally the lowest rank on purpose.
It’s called having a sense of humor, not a production team.

And judging by how quickly some people jump to complaints while never lifting a finger themselves, it seems effort is optional here — criticism, however, never is.
If the community keeps pushing away the people who actually try, it’s only natural that the future will be dominated by whatever requires the least effort.
And if that’s the preferred standard here, then everything is perfectly on track.

Volume 1 will be finished by the weekend. Still have 10 volumes to go, and Volume 12 drops this year.
Maybe I’ll even wrap up Volume 2 in the meantime.

You're not wrong that I'm not funding anything, and I'm not going to pretend otherwise. But that's not the argument I'm making. The argument is that MTL copy-paste passed off as human translation actively poisons a series. Not because free work is bad, but because inaccurate work that misrepresents itself spreads. People read it, form wrong impressions of characters, miss punchlines, lose tone, and then move on. The damage is quiet and it accumulates across volumes.

The food truck analogy doesn't hold either. A dry cheese sandwich is still a cheese sandwich. What's being served here is a sandwich with the label scratched off and "homemade" written in marker. The problem isn't the quality, it's the misrepresentation. The credits say human-translated. The output says otherwise, and I backed that up line by line.

As for amateurs: someone who sits with a dictionary, struggles through grammar, and gets things wrong because they're still learning is an amateur. That's honest effort and it shows in the work even when it fails. Someone who runs text through DeepL or a chatbot, pastes the output into bubbles, and calls it translation is not an amateur. That's a different category entirely.

And yes, there is a chance this keeps going badly long enough that someone gets fed up and actually commissions a proper team. If that's what it takes, fine. But the more likely outcome is that the slop just becomes the version people know, and nothing better ever gets made because the demand looks satisfied. That's the actual concern.

Your previous messages included personal remarks directed at me. I’m not responding to those — only to the claims about the translation.

Everything about my experience level and workflow was stated openly from the start. I never claimed to be perfect or professional.

If my work doesn’t meet your standards, that’s completely fine. You’re free to ignore it, wait for another version, or create your own.

I’ll finish Chapter 8 as planned. Chapters 3–7 are open for anyone who wants to provide an alternative.

Hey man at least you tried, i'm the "beggars can't be choosers" kind of guy, so many series out there that never got translated that I wish got translated, i'm just glad you ended up translating this, even though the translation's not great I don't mind, i'm reading this shit for free, plenty of people out there love to complain without spending a single dime for proper translations, same people that complain on pirate sites thinking they have some sort of ground to stand on.
