"I had fun with this one"
I mentioned to you before that I only translate things that can hold my interest while I'm working on them (or rather only finish such things). You can get a fair idea of the intensity of the translation effort from the length of the notes section and this one has all that for just a few pages. I keep looking at it wishing I could have done a better job capturing the original work's energy. The last panel in 5.png keeps grabbing my attention because, while it does a passable job, I think it fails to capture much of the coquettish eroticism and impish delight she carries through the whole thing right to that coup de grâce moment. The visual in the preceding panel should give you some idea what I'm talking about.

This one, like many of the more difficult scripts I've done, wasn't hard because reading it in Japanese was difficult. I needed to find a way to balance many aspects of the original work/character and still come up with something that reads well in English without requiring a book in place of each bubble. I would characterize the entire comic as "playful." The note about the mouse noises is just one example.
