An original printing of the shoujo mangaka and novelist Ai Marito's anthology works for the imprint Closed Space. This particular manner of pre-printing is a lost and otherwise rare example of sending manuscripts to printing shops to find the best method in printing. The front and back covers are printed with gold ink, which has since faded, on a construction paper sheet. Several pages were printed offset while others are blueprint copies. The volume was published for Comiket 6 (July 30–31, Ōta City Industrial Building (大田区産業会館). This particular book was limited to 100 copies only.
Ai Marihito participated in the mid 70s remnants of the Year 24 group and had a successful career as a commercial mangaka. Marito went on to continue publishing commerical works into the 1990s and is still active today. Many of the works in this anthology come from a variety of magazines, personal and otherwise, as well as early works of Marihito's, ranging from experimental works to romance works.
When I heard that they were going to put together a feature on me this time, in a nice, full-color sort of size, I was really happy—
but in reality, I was being run off my feet with the reprinting of other issues of Uchiwa Kukan [内輪空間], which I had more or less forced myself to get made, and as a result I couldn't work on the [“ankō”] the way I wanted to.
So, thanks to that, I've ended up with this rather [rough/unfinished] collection of works!
Whew! It's July 30 now, and by tomorrow all the printing should be finished… haha.
Next time around, I'll definitely put more work into it and make up for the disgrace of this issue, so… waaaah!
