A doujinshi imprint from the mangaka Akio Kobayashi's circle Rose Tinted Circus Troupe, who was active during the early 1980s to the mid 2000s or so. This is volume 4 in the anthology series by the circle, focusing on Garma Zabi from Mobile Suit Gundam and Charmuro. There are interplays of Xabungle, Lupin the 3rd, as well as Acrobunch parodies interlaced with each work. Every manuscript are parodies based on pop culture, such as art, music and film, by a variety of very much then-established mangaka and fujoshi artists of their day. Consequently, this work did not make it to Comiket and was purchased via mail order only. Akio had a very prolific corporate career and was responsible for most of the bankrolling, having a very important status as both a publisher, mangaka and organizer.
Many of the artists at this point were at the height of their Aniparo careers but went under several different pseudonyms than usual. Uniquely, Shio Sato (Haruka Sato) went by Akashiya Meruo (明石家める夫) in this imprint after dropping Shio Sato as their penname before going by Simone Yotsuya in the 1990s.
Several commercials or CM are listed for a variety of works, many of which were worked on in tandem by many of the collaborators who submitted manuscripts to this particular book. The printing quality is notable above average due to Akio's bankrolling as well as the printing method, which was a highly expensive PS版 (PS-ban), referring to a presensitized printing plate, a type of offset-printing plate, which was done by Selit Printing Co., Ltd. which was located in Gifu.
"What can I say? Once again, I have to apologize for the same thing. I am very sorry that the publication of “Garma Roman Album” was delayed.
This time, of the four issues so far, we were hit by the worst scheduling chaos yet. From the end of the year through February, my company work piled up, and as a result, even when I came home, I couldn't get around to answering letters, let alone editing the book.
I couldn't even get around to chasing up the manuscripts as I had intended, and as of right now, there is still about one contributor who hasn't submitted their work.
At this point, there's nothing left to do but laugh!! I'm sorry.
I imagine those of you who reserved copies well in advance must also have been worried, but please forgive me.
Once again, we have placed considerable emphasis on the editing and layout.
Of course, the quality of a book depends on the works themselves, but those two aspects can make a considerable difference in the finished product.
No matter how many good works you collect, I believe that you cannot make a good book if you cut corners when it comes to editing and layout.
The printing method is also extremely important.
For this Garma…, we used P.S. plates for printing.
They are considerably more expensive, but fine lines, delicate screentones, and the like come out extremely cleanly.
From here on as well, I intend to make every effort possible to produce good books, so please let us know your thoughts and impressions."
